Laboratory of Russian as a Foreign Language

The Laboratory of Russian as a Foreign Language at BSUFL was established in December 2022. Currently, the Laboratory operates within the Linguapark Educational Center at BSUFL.

The main activities of the Laboratory are as follows:

  • Studying, analyzing, and systematizing innovations in teaching Russian as a foreign language in the Republic of Belarus and abroad.
  • Organizing and conducting training courses, roundtables, seminars, and workshops for RFL teachers. The Laboratory organizes the following training courses: “Introduction to the Major: Russian as a Foreign Language”, “The RFL Teacher’s Methodological Portfolio”, and “Modern Communication Technologies in RFL Teaching”. It also organizes the Methodological Lounge, an annual event designed to strengthen BSUFL’s reputation as a leading center for international education and professional training for RFL teachers.
  • Providing organizational and methodological support for the international exam in Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL) and its preparatory courses at BSUFL. The exam is held in partnership with the Language Testing Center of St. Petersburg State University (SPbU).
  • Developing the professional skills of future RFL teachers through the Students Teach Students project. Within this project, Belarusian students have the opportunity to lead speaking clubs and practical Russian lessons for international students from BSUFL’s partner universities.
